Ministry to Children

At University Baptist Church we seek to provide a nurturing environment for children of all ages to grow in faith that will empower them to be intentional followers of Christ. It is our objective to minister to each child as a unique individual, giving special attention to physical, social, and spiritual needs of the whole child.

Children are an integral part of the UBC family and participate in all aspects of ministry. Age-specific Sunday School classes are available for children from infancy through sixth grade. Each class offers developmentally-appropriate activities to stimulate learning as each child explores the Bible, their faith, and their world. Extended session for preschoolers is provided during worship as well as child care during church-wide events. Wednesday nights are a time for music and missions. Preschoolers and children learn about how to sing as a group, learn about elements of worship, and offer praise to God through music. Children learn about missionaries and the work they do as well as how they themselves can carry on the work of Jesus no matter where they find themselves.

We want to best serve and minister to your children. For more information on ministries to preschoolers and children at UBC, please contact Ashley Gill, Associate Minister of Family Life; Kathia Hicks, Preschool Coordinator; or Christy Thornton, Children’s Coordinator.

Helping Hands

To help promote awareness of the needs around us, we will participate in days of giving back to our community.  These days will include activities such as preparing medicine packs for medical mission trip or visiting a local nursing home.
